Following on from last year's 10-year-old which was influenced by Malbec comes this considerably older expression infused with the vibrant berry character of Pinot Noir. After eleven years in Bourbon barrels the liquid was transferred into fresh New Zealand Pinot casks from acclaimed wine maker, Grant Taylor’s Valli vineyards in Central Otago. It's not the first time Springbank have done a finishing like this, with an eleven year old a few years back resulting in a Longrow masterpiece. Given that peating is normally around 50-55ppm, it's no surprise that the style on offer here will be more like the Islay single malts of Port Charlotte than the 'typical' Springbank. With only 9400 bottles and the 15 year age statement it represents longterm collectability.
