Stranahan’s Snowflake whiskeys are so popular that fans make an American whiskey pilgrimage each year to get one. Made up of the distillery’s best finish for the year, each annual limited edition in the Snowflake series is debuted at its own Snowflake festival where “Strana-fans” gather to celebrate this American whiskey pilgrimage. Edition #25 “Humboldt Peak” has humble beginnings, made from 100% Rocky Mountain barley and spring water and matured in No. 3 char American white oak. But like Stranahan’s sister distillery – Old Bushmills in Northern Ireland – it's the finishing casks that really ramp up this single malt: Cabernet Sauvignon, Oloroso Sherry and Barbados rum casks crank the red fruit and nutty notes through the roof. Aged between 5–10 years, it’s then been bottled non-chill filtered at 94 Proof (47% ABV) with no added colour.
