Surrounded by Australia’s best craft beers and the Club’s tastiest drams, we spent a Friday trying to nail that perfect beer and whisky pairing. Then we thought, ‘what if two of these incredible booze-makers met in real life?’ Fast-forward to our dream team, Stomping Ground’s Head Brewer Ashur Hall and Westward’s Master Blender Miles Munroe, making this world-first. With the recipe for his Lamington Porter in hand, Ashur flew overseas to meet Miles and pair brewed the chewy Aussie-style porter together. Then after a proper cask maturation, the beer was decanted from the casks, and Westward’s single malt was poured in to receive an extended maturation of its own, soaking up the goodness of these freshly porter-drenched casks. The result was better than we could’ve hoped for and has already won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Bottled non-chill filtered and with no colour added.
